Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of MEP Department to oversee the full spectrum of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering activities. This role involves leading design and site execution efforts, managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to Watermaster’s renowned quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, planning, and execution of MEP systems for wellness, landscape, water treatment, and infrastructure projects.
- Manage a team of MEP engineers, draftsmen, and site supervisors, fostering technical excellence and a collaborative working environment.
- Review and validate MEP design drawings, technical specifications, and calculations to ensure compliance with codes, client requirements, and project budgets.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and handover phases of MEP works, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality benchmarks, and safety standards.
- Coordinate closely with civil, architectural, structural, and project management teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues during design and construction phases and provide effective resolutions.
- Manage departmental budgets, resource allocation, and project schedules to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Interface with clients, consultants, regulatory bodies, and suppliers to ensure smooth project coordination and compliance.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and control systems across MEP installations.
- Drive innovation by promoting sustainable, energy-efficient, and cutting-edge MEP solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and presentations for management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in MEP engineering, including at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record in leading MEP works for large-scale wellness, landscape, infrastructure, or water treatment projects.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps and filtration systems, control panels, electrical distribution systems, fire protection, and plumbing.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and other relevant design and project management software.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on timelines and quality.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and stakeholders.
- Fluent in English; Arabic and/or French are a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP Certification or equivalent project management credentials.
- Experience in design-build (EPC) or turnkey project environments.
- Health and Safety Certification (OSHA, NEBOSH) is an advantage.
